Happy Manifestation Monday!
These days, we’re all spending a lot of time at home and in front of our screens. Whether it’s your laptop, smartphone or TV – you’re definitely spending more screen time than ever.
What I’m going to talk about today is related to this recent Wellness Wednesday blog post.
Basically, I wrote about how the content you consume daily on social media impacts your wellbeing and emotional health.
Here’s another blog post with practical tips on how you can be in control of your emotions and energy in this season.
The second article is not related to social media, but I thought of sharing it since it’s still very relevant.
Stay Focused: Scrolling on Social Media and Manifesting
I’m no longer active on Instagram or IG stories as I used to be and there are many reasons for this decision.
Let me focus on the one that’s mostly helpful to your manifesting.
Although I still make a conscious effort to post to my IG feed when I feel like it, I choose to limit my exposure to that platform or to scroll down endlessly.
To be honest, even when I was very active on IG stories and creating a lot of content, I rarely spent time scrolling down the feed.
The reason is that when you consume any type of content – whether it’s on social media, TV, radio, podcast, other people – you’re basically downloading it to your subconscious mind.
Yes, that’s exactly what’s happening! your subconscious mind absorbs all of the content – including the energy behind it – and it helps create your own reality.
So let’s say you’re trying to manifest a healthy, loving relationship and you spend endless hours scrolling on Instagram. Maybe you follow accounts that are covering daily news (negative emotions) or couples who are in love (it makes you focus on lack) or people who have richer and more fulfilling lifestyles than yours (so you feel sorry for yourself or envious) – which is also focusing on lack.
Imagine if all of these negative emotions and feelings that are counter to your manifesting are downloaded to your subconscious mind! which is exactly what’s happening.
Then, all you’re doing is basically pushing away your dream vision further away from you and making it more challenging – if not impossible – to achieve.
What you can do Instead
I’m not saying that you should completely ban yourself from checking social media. Some accounts can be useful and offer tips to help you manifest. Which is what I do on my IG feed. Theres’ even a recent post on my Instagram feed on this topic.
What you can do is be very selective with the accounts that you follow and limit your screen time to maybe one or two hours a day.
You can choose to follow accounts that are uplifting and that offer honest, authentic advice. Ones that are uplifting and motivating.
Even if there’s an account of someone who’s leading a life that you’re trying to manifest for yourself, follow their content to help you manifest a similar reality. Feel the positive emotions that come with living that reality.
So you’re basically trying to get a vivid picture of that dream of yours to help you visualize it and bring it closer to you.
It’s all about feeling like your desire is actually very doable and even closer than you imagine.
But if that account makes you feel like you’re so far behind and that it’s nearly impossible for you to have a similar lifestyle or reality, then I would suggest that you stop following them.
Stay focused: All it Takes is Mindfulness
Like with everything else that you consume – think of the food that you eat- you want to be mindful when it comes to social media time and exposure.
I think this season is a great opportunity to self-reflect and maybe cut down on anything that no longer serves you or your manifesting process.
There are so many other reasons that can be blocking your manifesting. I’ll be covering them in future Manifestation Monday posts.
For now, I hope you can start by bringing mindfulness into the social pages that you follow. It’s the most simple yet powerful tip and will help you stay focused on your goals.
Let me know if you have any questions related to manifesting a partner and if you would like me to cover a specific topic in a future post.
Have a lovely – and mindful – week ahead!
