If you want to stay updated with the places that I visited in Napoli without hearing the full story, you can follow me on Instagram. I now share posts from my travels on my stories only. So you can only see the posts for one day before they disappear.
On my fifth day in Napoli, I visited one of the city’s top pizzerias and I was so happy with the food.
I’ll be sharing another two top pizzerias in the next two days, so feel free to sign up to the blog to stay updated.
I originally wanted to have lunch at Starita on that hot July day. But when I finally made it to Starita, I discovered that they are closed on Mondays. So luckily, I had a printed article with Naples’ best pizzerias and I went to one spot from the list.
Pizzeria and Trattoria Al 22 is a cozy and small place in a busy narrow street. The place has a football theme and is super casual.
Both the pizza and my parmigiana starter were excellent. I had the pizza with anchovies and I loved every single bite.
This is a historic pizzeria, established in 1935. You will notice that in Napoli most businesses are run by family generations for centuries. This is what makes this Italian city unique. It’s not your typical pizzeria joint. This is real history!
After walking around for hours (which is basically what I’ve been doing throughout the entire trip), I managed to finally get a table at Al 22. It was a truly special experience to dine at one of Napoli’s top pizzerias. It’s a moment that I will cherish for my entire life!
I’m excited to share with you the other two exceptional pizzerias that I tried while in Napoli. So stay tuned and sign to the blog.
I might have missed a few places, but I plan to go back to Napoli next year in May. So I will cover all of the top pizzerias in that trip.
For now, let me know if you visited Napoli and if you tried any of the top pizzerias there?
How was your experience? Did you try Al 22? If so, did you think it was the best?
