I’ve been receiving a good number of online inquiries from various people about where to stay and what to see in Bali. Many even wanted to meet up with me just to get that kind of information.
That’s why I decided to create a list of the top places to see and best eating spots in both Ubud Bali and Seminyak Bali. Today’s post covers Ubud Bali’s must-see and visit places.
What to See and Do in Ubud Bali
Entrance to Ubud’s cutest monkey sanctuary is only IDR 50,000 for adults and IDR 40,000 for children. The forest area is quite big so you might want to allocate an hour if you want to walk around the whole space. Be careful when around the monkeys as they like to jump on people and try to grab things like phones or hand bags. You can try to feed them bananas if you want to take cool Instagram pictures or videos.
Tegallalang Rice Terraces: This is a great spot for Instagram-worthy pictures and for a stunning natural landscape setting. If you feel like being surrounded by lush rice terraces in an original environment, then you won’t regret visiting this popular touristy spot.
Tegenungan Waterfall: I was lucky to visit this breathtaking waterfall as part of the retreat activities during my last trip to the mystical town. It was my first time witnessing a waterfall in my entire life but this one was truly worth the wait! Try to get there as early as you can if you want to avoid the crowds. Simply captivating and enchanting!
Ubud Street Market: If you feel like walking around the more authentic side of town, then this diverse street market might appeal to you. It’s located in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Ubud Town, full of quirky items, sarongs and souvenirs. A good spot for gift shopping on your last day in busy Ubud Town.
Where to Eat and Drink in Ubud Bali
Kafe: If you can have lunch or a smoothie at one Ubud café, then this is the one to visit. I’m in love with Kafe after a friend recommended it to me on my first Bali trip. Everything at this place is perfect, from the food to the ambiance to the presentation. This is currently my top Ubud casual eatery.
Taksu Spa & Restaurant: This is a very spacious restaurant and spa with a lovely outdoor garden area. It has a very classy, sophisticated vibe to it. Ideal for a peaceful lunch away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud town.
Watercress Bali: Another favorite casual lunch spot of mine. I like to sit at the second floor terrace and just watch the world go by. They serve a variety of healthy dishes, non-vegetarian options available too.
The Elephant: For a super healthy raw or vegetarian lunch with a lush, garden view, head to The Elephant. The portions here are quite big and the food is very fresh and of great quality. Try their green juice and thank me later.
Habitat Ubud: This is the new kid on the block in Ubud town. I honestly haven’t tried it yet but it looked like a nice casual lunch spot. It’s right next to the town’s popular co-working space Hubud, so if you don’t like their menu you can check out the café inside Hubud ?
Earth Café & Market: Earth Café is where I had my lunch every single day while I was in Seminyak! I haven’t tried their Ubud branch as I was exploring other places. If you’re in the mood for an organic, super healthy lunch, Earth Café won’t disappoint.
La Pacha Mama: If you’re a fan of Mexican food like me, then you might want to visit La Pacha Mama. They are open later in the day however, so it’s more like a restaurant/bar type of place. I haven’t visited yet but I heard that the food is good. They serve vegetarian Mexican dishes and refreshing drinks.
Copper Kitchen & Bar: Another cool late afternoon/evening spot that I still have to visit, this place has been on my must-visit list for my past two Bali trips! They mainly serve fusion Asian dishes made with locally sourced products. Perfect for a chilled night out with your loved one or friends.
Bonus Tip
If you’re into psychics and fortune tellers, I can give you details of an amazing Balinese Tarot Card reader. She’s based in a village in Ubud and is easily accessible via email or What’s App. Feel free to send me a message on my Facebook Page, Twitter or Instagram and I’ll be more than happy to forward you her details. She charges a very reasonable fee too!
