Wellness Wednesday: Focus on the Good – Always

A lot happened since my latest Dating Sunday blog post and first vaccine dose on that morning.

Apart from the usual vaccine side effects, I’ve had a major shift in perspective.

I’m naturally someone who focuses on the good and who practices gratitude in each moment of my day.

But because of a recent incident where I got locked out of my Twitter account, something major shifted within me.

I no longer take my wellbeing and safety for granted. I’m grateful that I live in a safe country and city.

I’m also grateful that I live a comfortable lifestyle. I can easily take cabs or public transportation to get to any destination in town.

I’m grateful more than ever for my health. This has likely been highlighted for all of us in this pandemic season.

I’m grateful that I have the privilege to travel and explore the world. All the trips that I made in the past and the people that I’ve met along the way have been amazing. Especially in those wellness and spiritual growth trips that I made in the last couple of years.

I no longer am focusing on the fact that I’m single. Although I still would like to be in a healthy and loving relationship.

The shift in perspective is from being in an energy of desperation and longing to truly accept my current life and single status.

And that’s so powerful. It’s another level of surrender. Letting go without intending to let go.

It’s not like I’m telling the Universe “OK, I will surrender and not focus on my desire so that I can have it.” It’s a real energy of making peace with my single life and accepting it for what it is. You can read this blog post about making peace with being single and how it impacts your manifesting.

My Breakthrough Moment – How did It Happen?

Breakthroughs can happen when you least expect them. Although I’ve been attending all sorts of spiritual growth workshops and I’ve done the intense and deep inner work, I can honestly tell you that the major breakthroughs took place in the past year and a half while I was self-isolating in my Dubai apartment.

All I did was set an intuition that I wanted to release all the blocks to love – this was before I started any deep inner work – and the Universe kept sending me the lessons and the opportunities for growth.

This last breakthrough came after I got locked out of my Twitter account. I can’t share the details here. All I can say is that the incident made me feel grateful for the life that I have and to not take any part of it for granted.

Are you Focusing on what you don’t have?

One easy way to know whether you’re living from a creator mindset or a victim mindset – which is the essence of the NLP Life Coach training that I did – is to ask yourself: Are you focusing on what you don’t have or on what you have?

Because you can’t attract what you want from the place of focusing on lack. You have to tune into gratitude and abundance and feel good about all the positive things in your current life and situation.

For example, instead of focusing on the fact that I’m single and that I have to do everything on my own, I focus on the fact that I’m healthy and blessed. I also focus on the learning lessons and growth opportunities that come with being single and independent.

If you’re a curious person like me, then you will get what I mean.

I love learning new things and this is why I can accept being single. Each day, I learn a new life lesson and I appreciate that.

If you find yourself in a situation where you’re struggling to focus on the good that you already have, then focus on the solution.

Think of how you can improve the situation that you’re facing and take inspired action to get there.

Today’s post was inspired from my latest news and it wasn’t planned.

If you feel like my content resonated with you, let me know your thoughts in the comments.

I’ll end with a raw and authentic picture of my inner child (Leela) and a bottle of vitamin water. Staying hydrated post vaccine dose number one.

What are you grateful for today? let me know in the comments!
