The Key to Successful Manifestation: Eliminating the Obsession with Lack

Examples of Focusing on the Lack

I was out with a friend a few years ago, and she said she doesn’t like seeing couples around her because this reminds her of being single.

Although I remember asking her not to focus on the lack and to be grateful, I know I’m also guilty of focusing on the lack in my life.

Even if you don’t say it out loud, you’re pushing your desire away from you by simply having thoughts contradictory to what you want to manifest.

Trust me, this is not easy, and I’m still struggling with this myself.

My thoughts range from focusing on being single to having to do everything on my own to comparing myself to others in a healthy relationship. The list of contradictory thoughts is endless – and even worse – it goes on all day, every day!

What to Focus on Instead

The best way to reverse this low vibration and negative self-talk is by focusing on what you want to create instead. For example, you want a healthy and loving relationship, right?

You need to spend more time visualizing and feeling the emotions of your future life than focusing energy on not having it. Sounds simple, right? Well, that’s until you start to put it into practice.

As humans, it’s natural for us to focus on the lack in our lives. It’s how we are wired.

We end up investing more time, energy and thoughts into what we don’t want, which fuels it and re-creates it in our reality.

So, we are feeding the reality that we want to change by focusing on it and giving it all our attention, time and energy!

If you enjoy journaling, try to spend more time scripting your future life and the traits of your person.

If visualizing during meditation is easier for you, then spend around ten minutes each morning to visualize your dream life during your meditation. You can repeat the same process before going to bed.

Whatever you do, the goal is to focus your thoughts, energy and attention on the desire you want to create. Not the reality that you’re trying to change. This is the key to successful manifestation.

Successful Manifestation: Bonus Tip for Shifting Your Focus

Another useful tip for shifting your focus when manifesting is to bring awareness to your self-talk and inner dialogue.

Once you start to be mindful of your thoughts, you will notice that you constantly have contradictory thoughts (I just started to bring attention to my thoughts).

I was shocked because I realized I was having back-to-back thoughts that were negating the reality that I was manifesting.

Thoughts like “I have to do everything on my own”, “I’m fed up with being single”, and “Of course, it’s because she is in a relationship and she has a supportive partner”. And it was going on all day.

The good news is that when you bring awareness to these contradictory thoughts, you change them from being unconscious to conscious ones. And that means that they have no impact on your manifesting.

I’m trying to say that by bringing awareness to the negative self-talk (and replacing it with positive thoughts), you’re creating shifts and no longer manifesting more of the lack.
