It was my first visit to the modern and elegant IZU Bakery at City Walk Dubai. I was surprised to find out that the uber cool breakfast spot has been open since October of last year.
I guess I didn’t discover IZU Bakery in Dubai until recently because I live on the other side of town. I rarely visit City Walk and when I do, it’s for a specific place.
A European sidewalk cafe in Dubai
At first glance, the modern interior of this cozy breakfast spot transports you to a European sidewalk cafe or brasserie. (which is exactly what its sister eatery, IZU Brasserie is called). The breakfast spot is airy, bright and the energy is positive and good.
So are their breakfast dishes. I love baked eggs, so I went for the spicy baked eggs with a side of sautéed spinach. Made perfectly, this portion was just right and it was healthy yet filling.
Divine Food and Drink
My lovely breakfast ended with a warm, divine cup of caramel latte. The cafe uses Ethiopian Boon coffee beans. The friendly waitress told me that the bakery makes its own caramel and chocolate. They use this in the caramel and chocolate lattes.
If you like your coffee on the healthy side and not too sweet, ask them to add less caramel to the latte. The sweetness was very subtle yet the taste was simply divine. Honestly, I can’t wait to go back for another cup of this original caramel latte.
I’d also like to try the egg and mushroom tartine which was on their breakfast specials’ board. I also recently visited neighboring IZU Brasserie and you can read the review here.
