Hotel Tugu Bali was amazing. Since it was my first trip to Canggu, I wasn’t sure where to stay. Apparently, the beachside town doesn’t have many five-star hotels. This is very different to its touristy neighbor, Seminyak. This can’t be a bad thing. Canggu’s cozy and quiet vibe is what made me fall in love with it anyway.
Hotel Tugu Bali is one of the privately owned and designed collection of luxury art hotels. It’s aim is to bring back to life the history, culture and soul of Indonesia. Besides the exclusive and royal mood of the property and its museum-style décor, there’s a peaceful and calm ambiance throughout its spacious rooms and hallways.
My home for the eleven nights that I stayed there was a cute ocean view tree house. Furthermore, it also overlooked a pretty lotus pond and garden. The room comes with an in-house spa in the form of an over-sized bath tub and relaxing area.
The twenty year-old Canggu property houses an expansive museum full of iconic Indonesian cultural and historic pieces. Located just a few steps away from the beach and within walking distance to the town’s main road, staying at Tugu will truly make your life easier. I could easily walk to the beach, the area’s main restaurants and cafes, the fitness studio where I was taking classes and even to the town’s popular co-working space.
I’ll be adding images from my private hotel tour to Instagram soon.
