Five Canggu Coffee Shops I love to visit in Bali (2024)

Canggu Coffee Shop Update

Here’s a list of my favorite Canggu cafes that I visited in June 2024. If you’re into specialty coffee or simply a cozy cafe vibe, then this list is for you.

  • The Living Room cafe. I wrote about this eclectic and cozy cafe in my previous Bali blog post. I only tried their coffee but they serve food too. You can check them out when you’re in Pererenan area.
  • Picco. The brand is owned by a person from Jakarta. He chose to open his first cafe in Pererenan, Bali. Although the coffee was great, I didn’t like the vibe at the cafe. Being a talkative person, I was trying to have a conversation with the Barista and to ask about the coffee and brand. He was from Jakarta and he was very closed off. The energy felt very weird that I left my water bottle at the table after using the washroom. After a recent Bangkok trip, I realized that the reason that the Barista wasn’t friendly and was closed off is that he’s a city person and not an island one. Balinese people are very open, chatty and friendly. Anyway, I won’t be going back to this cafe. The reason people like me choose to visit Bali is for its open vibe and energy. I’m not interested in Jakarta vibes or mindset!
  • Blacklist Coffee Roasters & Concept Store. This cafe hosts coffee tasting experiences and they have a coffee bean roastery attached to the cafe. Although the coffee was great, the service was not warm or friendly. It’s a touristy spot and it got popular. So the service was really below average. If you do visit, make sure you go to the Batu Mejan store. The cafe has large windows and is airy and bright. Would I go back? maybe only if I was in the area and wanted to have a good cup of coffee. I had an iced long black with Canggu Blend coffee beans for IDR 50,000.
  • Bull’s Coffee Pererenan. I tried Bull’s Coffee when I was in Uluwatu last year and I loved their Shakerato. This is a safe coffee shop option but nothing special. You can sit outside by the street since it’s located in a quiet part of Pererenan. It has an authentic vibe, friendly service by Balinese people and is an affordable option.
  • The Goat Father. This is my favorite Canggu cafe. It’s located right in front of The Avocado Factory. I went there once but I fell in love with their creative and well-made coffee drinks. I actually plan to go back there and try more drinks. The Baristas were friendly and professional at the same time. I tried two iced coffee drinks when I was there. For a detox coffee drink, try their iced charcoal latte. It was so good! I actually just remembered that I have activated charcoal powder and I plan to make this iced coffee at home tomorrow. So tasty and not to be missed! The seating is really small and it’s just at the street. But that’s the beauty of Bali lifestyle. It’s all about street life and experiencing life in its raw and natural form.

What’s your favorite Canggu coffee shop? Do you have suggestions for my next Bali trip? Let me know in the comments!
