It’s my second time in Bali and my first visit to Canggu. I can’t tell you how much I’m in love with this super hip beachside town. Canggu is located in west Bali, close to Seminyak. It has become a popular surfing town in the past couple of years. So you will see a lot of hot surfer type guys and upmarket crowd while walking down the streets.
Canggu’s cool vibes have also attracted digital nomads and entrepreneurs from across the world. I’ll fill you in on a popular co-working space where I’m writing from now in a future post. Another huge plus for me is the plethora of vegan and organic restaurants and cafes that are scattered on the town’s main road. You can find out more about these healthy eating spots from my Instagram.
The Canggu Studio
This Bali trip, I decided to take things to another level by having a more engaging travel experience. That’s why I visited The Canggu Studio for an afternoon of Zumba and Fit Box. The ten-month old studio is located in a cozy area down the road from my hotel. They offer a wide range of holistic fitness classes from martial arts to contemporary dance to hard-core Barre sessions. I got a five-class pass and I plan to go back soon to try out more classes.
The funny thing about my first visit is that I was hoping to meet new people (men in particular) at the Fit Box class but all of the students were teenagers ? I did enjoy my first boxing workout session though and I am definitely going back again for some dancing and toning fun.
Update: I attended a functional Pilates class at the studio and it was truly worth my time. The instructor was very experienced and she continuously adjusted our posture and guided us throughout the 75-minute class. I plan to attend another class with her sometime next week.
I highly recommend that you follow the studio’s Instagram page as that’s what made me want to visit The Canggu Studio in the first place. They regularly update their page with their class schedule and other details too. So do check them out!
