Mercury Retrograde
The last Mercury Retrograde of the year started on November 25 and I chose to visit Dubai Mall on that day to shop for gifts before my Bali trip.
Of course, this was a bad decision. Being an empath and living in a big city like Dubai is tough.
I managed to get the gifts and get groceries. But today, I also went to Mall of the Emirates to check the last few things for my trip. Again, very bad decision considering that we’re in Mercury Retrograde.
Although I didn’t stay for long in the mall today, when I got back home, I was cutting off the price tag off a belt that I bought and I ended up getting my skin too. That’s because energy transfers and it doesn’t die. So, while I was at the mall today, I felt like the energy was too dense and that I picked it up because I felt so overwhelmed and discombobulated when I was there.
I basically decided not to visit a mall for at least another three months.
Did you also experience vivid dreams of people from the past? This is another thing about Mercury Retrograde. It’s a time for releasing old energy and old memories that no longer serve us.
Thailand Trip
I’ll be writing one last story from my Thailand trip after this one. Then I plan to delete most of the repetitive photos from my phone. I already started deleting some of the Thailand photos. And I never delete photos! So you can imagine how bad that trip was.
Last week, I shared about my week in Hua Hin and how it was nothing like what I imagined it to be. You can read that story here.
Today’s post is about how challenging it was to get plant-based milk Thai milk tea that doesn’t have tons of sugar in it.
Being a foodie, I wanted to experience all the great food and drinks that Thailand has to offer. But because of my food intolerances, this was difficult.
Since I have a dairy intolerance, I was trying to find a place that sells the famous Thai milk tea with plant-based milk and without sugar. This proved to be an impossible goal.
Most stores and cafes sell a pre-made Thai milk tea version that already has sugar and dairy milk.
The only places that customized a plant-based Thai milk tea without sugar for me were hotel cafes. Luckily, I tried the authentic Thai milk tea with plant-based milk and no sugar at both Bangkok hotels where I stayed.
So if you’re looking for a plant-based Thai milk tea without sugar, just head to a hotel cafe or lobby and ask them to make you one. It’s so tasty and light.
Another funny story is how I didn’t want to get bubble tea from Koi The since we already have this brand in the UAE. So I avoided going there the entire 25 days that I was in Thailand.
Then towards the last two days of my trip, I eventually went there. And although they had a Thailand exclusive milk tea, it was also pre-made and they said that they couldn’t make it without sugar!
I ended up ordering a black Ceylon tea with plant-based milk and pearl bubbles. This was the closest that I could get to a Thai milk tea but of course it’s not the same taste!
So I realized at the end of my 25-day Thailand trip, that we already have the best bubble tea brand in the UAE and that I don’t need to go all the way to Bangkok to have it!
By doing that, I can also save myself from the rudeness of some Thai people. I even had a negative encounter with a Koi The staff while I was in the queue and asking questions about the drinks.
Next week, I’ll share the last and the darkest story from my 25-day first ever Thailand trip.
So make sure to sign up to the blog to stay updated. The story is the reason why I don’t think I want to visit Thailand again. The experience was really traumatic and bad.
Love,
Leela
