Maldives Anantara Dhigu Resort – Saudi Diva Style

Maldives Anantara Dhigu Resort

This past summer, I knew that I deserved to get away. I had been job searching, attending business networking events and applying to internships/traineeships and jobs for a couple of months.

I started the job search from the day that I had to submit my last news story for my journalism news room unit. It was the last course that I had to take for my journalism degree, the last news story that I had to write, and the final assignment that I had to submit to get my journalism degree. This was on March 29, 2015.

You can imagine the excitement that I had to be able to qualify for all those journalism, communications and PR-related job posts. I truly enjoyed every moment of browsing through job posts, reading job descriptions, getting to understand the tasks involved and finally applying to the ones that matched my profile.

Time to Visit Maldives Anantara Dhigu Resort

Fast forward to August and I was feeling drained. I had been applying, getting some interviews, but not making it to the selection phase. That’s when I decided that I should take a break and get away for some time.

At first, Jordan’s dead sea was on my mind. Then after consulting with some friends, and doing a bit of research, I decided to take the advise of talented travel, food and expat blogger Pinay Flying High and book an Emirates holidays package to the Maldives.

I’ll list details of the package cost and what it includes at the end of my holiday posts. But for now, I’ll tell you that Emirates Holidays are experts in booking holiday packages to certain destinations; the Maldives being one of them.

The Universe Works in Interesting Ways

When I visited the Emirates Holidays shop a few years ago to book a trip to Hong Kong, I met with Pinay Flying High at the store. Noemi was very helpful in booking my holiday, and we later developed a close friendship which lasted until today. She was the person who actually helped me become a real blogger, since she’s an authentic and highly talented one! I now know how to create links in posts, how to add tags to posts, and other basic yet important blogging tools and techniques.

I’ll never forget the genuine help she gave and the great support that everyone needs when they first start blogging. In the beginning, my blog was just a portfolio for my writing. Or at least that’s how I intended it to be. But after Pinay’s help and support, I started to take blogging more seriously. Now it’s more of a passion, a hobby and a way to communicate my thoughts and feelings to the world.

The Maldives is Amazing

The great thing about the Maldives, is that the country doesn’t require a visit visa for entry to be applied for in advance. Free visas are given to all nationalities at the airport. For someone with a Saudi passport, that is a huge plus 🙂

On our way to Maldives Anantara Dhigu Resort, where I chose to stay, the speed boat made a quick stop at the sister property Veli to drop off a couple who were on their honeymoon. Upon speaking to them, I got to know that they flew all the way from the UK for this holiday.

The flight from Dubai to Male is around four hours only. At Male airport, the Anantara resort has an office where they meet and greet guests. Once all guests have arrived, they take us to the resorts in a speed boat. The speed boat trip is around forty minutes, but it’s a magical ride that you wouldn’t want to end. It feels like you’re no longer on earth, so surreal and dream-like. The sun was shining bright, there was a cool breeze, the ocean was sparkling and the waters were crystal blue.

I’ll be writing more about my trip to Maldives Anantara Dhigu Resort in the next couple of posts. Details about the resort, the package, the service and the costs will all be revealed in the upcoming posts. So stay tuned 🙂
