It was a hot and sunny afternoon in Canggu. My Indonesian friend Ceria drove for two hours from Bali’s main city Denpasar for our coffee catch-up.
It has been a little over a year since we last met. Yet, it felt as if it was only yesterday that we were enjoying conversation over coffee or dancing to R&B and hip hop tunes at the island’s famous Sand Bar.
The reason behind our strong bond and valuable friendship is our shared world view. We have the same outlook on positivity, resilience and laughter.
If you want to learn how to be happy, spend some time with Ceria. She will show you exactly how that’s done.
This is as simple as focusing on the positive and the learning in each situation you encounter, no matter how negative or dark that experience is.
Being an NLP certified Life Coach, I’ve followed this simple yet effective approach throughout my entire life.
When faced with adversity and challenges, instead of internalizing that experience and becoming cynical or pessimistic, try looking for the learning and then keep moving forward.
You might say, but what if the struggles and difficult times persist and I have no way out, then what?
I can tell you that from my personal experience, things do change. All it takes is resilience and patience. Positivity and joy is just around the corner.
Keep looking for the lesson in every situation you are confronted with. Focus on the positive, because I can assure you that it’s always there. It could be hiding and not obvious to you at first, but it certainly exists.
And if you are still in doubt, trust that I can help. My newly launched business – Soul Collective – is now live. You’ll be able to book one-on-one coaching sessions with me soon.
